Paiboon Nititawan, chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee's panel on checks and balances, Tuesday called for scrapping the Political Development Council because it lacks teeth.
The council has no concrete achievements to show, unlike other productive independent bodies such as the Ombudsman and National Human Rights Commission.
It lacks the authority to order compliance with any measure, he said.
