Bangkok welcomes restoration of US-Cuban relations

Thailand has welcomed the decision of both the United States and Cuba to renew their diplomatic relationship, ending decades of antagonistic policies against each other.

Foreign Ministry's spokesman Sek Wannamethee said the decision marks the beginning of the normalization of the U.S.-Cuba diplomatic ties which will benefit both countries and their peoples.
Sek said Thailand hoped the reengagement of relationship would bring the two countries to the next step in which both would join hands in the rehabilitation of full-scale diplomatic relations.
