The 39-year-old Prince Ali, head of the Jordan Foootball Association and a FIFA vice-president, declared his candidacy on Tuesday but will proceed without the backing of his own federation.
"Everybody is aware that during the general assembly in 2013 and 2014, the AFC congress has decided in supporting Blatter for a fifth term," AFC president Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa told reporters in Melbourne before the start of the Asian Cup.
"We are committed, all the member associations, are committed to that."
FIFA and Blatter have been widely criticised following allegations of corruption into the award of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups to Russia and Qatar.
In addition to Blatter and Prince Ali, Frenchman Jerome Champagne is another candidate in the FIFA election which takes place May 29 in Zurich.
