Jate Sirataranont, NLA spokesman, said it is still not certain how many queries should be raised in the impeachment cases of Miss Yingluck, former House speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont, and former Senate speaker Nikom Wairatpanij.
The case against Yingluck was forwarded to the NLA by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), which recommended that the former Premier be charged for her negligence in the rice pledging scheme that resulted in a tremendous financial loss for the country and for allowing corruption to take place under her administration. For their part, the former House and Senate speakers are facing charges for their involvement in an attempt to amend the Senate Origin bill.
Jate went on to say that the deliberation process of these cases will be in accordance with the timeframe set by the NLA president, adding that the number of queries to be posed will be concluded on January 15-16. So far, he said, the assembly has not yet encountered any obstacles while urging members of the public to closely follow updates of these cases as the lawmakers will be explaining them in detail, in a bid to prevent future misunderstanding.
