Nearly 60 Laotian and Myanmar prostitutes were arrested at three karaoke bars in Suphan Buri following police raids on Wednesday night.

They were aged between 18 and 22, Anti-Human Trafficking Division deputy commander Colonel Worapong Thongpaiboon revealed yesterday. Prostitution is illegal in Thailand.
Worapong said one of the Laotians arrested said she voluntarily entered the flesh trade because it allowed her to make a lot of money. He said all the women would be deported.
The owner of one karaoke bar was arrested at the scene but the owners of the two other businesses fled.
