The Rural Doctors' Society (RDS) yesterday demanded that Dr Narong Sahamethapat be removed from his post as Health Ministry's permanent secretary.

RDS president Dr Kriangsak Watcharanukulkiat filed a petition with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, calling on him to “return happiness” to Health Ministry officials by transferring Narong.
The reasons cited were that Narong caused rifts in the ministry, abused his power, urged civil servants to ignore the “returning happiness” policy issued by the health minister and intentionally violated the policies of the government and the National Council for Peace and Order.
