Jatuporn sentenced to 2 years jail for insulting Abhisit

The Criminal Court sentenced red-shirt leader Jatuporn Prompan for two years in jail for insulting former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva in a speech five years ago.

The court considered that Jatuporn’s speech on October 11, 2010 at the Victory Monument and on October 17 of the same year against Abhisit were not the truth and could thus be considered as defamatory.
Jatuporn is ordered to post the court’s sentence in the Thaipost, Matichon and Daily News newspapers for seven days.
