Twitter aims to get users talking more amongst themselves

San Francisco (dpa) - In a move that can only be seen as trying to stomp onto the turf of other social messaging networks, Twitter has begun letting users share videos more easily and enabling creation of tight circles of acquaintances for sharing private

Up until now, Twitter allowed information to be shared broadly or only to one other individual.
Now, "share via direct message" lets you select up to 20 recipients.
That lets you set up small groups for sharing stories, emulating products from rivals like Facebook and Whatsapp.
"We noticed that there's a lot of users who communicate with one another only via Twitter, which means this circle of contacts is very unique," product manager Jinen Kamdar told dpa.
Any Twitter item could be the start of a conversation within a select group without having to leave Twitter.
