Fishermen want help cleaning up oil in Rayong

Rayong fishermen and beachside vendors yesterday urged to the government to help clear up an oil slick and garbage from the Mae Rampeung Beach in Muang district.

The 30-strong group from this eastern province filed the petition via a government-run Dhamrongtham complaint gathering branch at Rayong City Hall. Vendor Nichamon Khongcharoen, 58, urged the related agencies – the Natural Resource and Environment Ministry, the Marine Department and the Pollution Control Department – to solve this issue for the sake of the fishing as well as the tourism industries.
