Key junta member welcomes two-year ban

Defence Minister and deputy prime minister Genl Prawit Wongsuwan said Friday that he welcomed the suggestion that junta members should be banned from politics for two years.
Referring to the earlier comment by junta leader and Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, he said the junta had no intention to hold on to power.
The junta-appointed Constitution Drafting Committee proposed the ban for members of five bodies, including the junta, known as the National Council for Peace andOrder (NCPO).
The panel will decide on Friday whether to include the banin the draft charter.
