Pata denies it agrees to free Bua Noi the Gorilla
Pata Pinklao shopping mall Monday denied that it has decided to shut down its zoo and agreed to give its gorilla, Bua Noi, to another zoo. Narathip Yimnian, the Pata zoo manager, said the report originated from a rumor.
The Daily Mirror has reported that the Thai authorities found the Pata Zoo had violated several rules so the zoo would be closed. An online petition, started last year, calling for all the animals to be released from the zoo has been signed by almost 50,000 people.
