Dusadee Pornsuksawat, deputy secretary-general in charge of investigation and arbitration, told a press conference yesterday that the EC had resolved to drop the two complaints.
The first charged Yingluck with violating both the election law and the Constitution by visiting the two regions after a snap election was called for February 2014. The EC found no evidence of abuse of power or use of state money to lure voters during the trip. They found Yingluck was not guilty of violating the law by using TV Pool to broadcast her |explanation of the rice scheme.
The other complaint called for the Democrats to be dissolved because some executives left the party to use the PDRC to distort information to attack the then-ruling Pheu Thai Party. The EC said such actions did not breach the law.
