Chinese tourists killed in Phuket bus crash

Three Chinese tourists were killed and 15 others were injured yesterday when their tour bus lost control and plunged into a 10-metre-deep abyss in Phuket's Muang district.
The 18 Chinese tourists and one tour guide were travelling to Phuket airport when the bus lost control on a Khao Kata downhill curve at 12.20pm, plunged into the abyss and overturned several times. Police suspect the bus had a brake malfunction or bus driver Khajornwit Srisongkhram wasn’t familiar with the route, resulting in the accident. The deceased were identified as Hu Huijie, 31, Li Meiling, 29, and Zhou Bo, 31.
