Sacred Buddha image taken out for Songkran

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will transport the sacred Phra Buddha Sihingh in a parade from the National Museum to Sanam Luang at 8am on Sunday, allowing people to pay their respects and pour water on the image during Songkran.

The image can be accessed from 5pm on Sunday to 3pm Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Nonthaburi Governor Chonchuen Bunyanusat said a cultural tourism campaign would be held as a prelude to the Songkran festival at Wat Poramaiyikawat on the island of Koh Kret on Saturday and Sunday.
It would feature various cultural performances, exhibitions, demonstrations of traditional handicrafts and cookery, as well as photography services against the backdrop of the unique Thai-Mon community.
