NACC freezes Tarit's Bt40.9 million worth of assets

The National Anti-Corruption Commission has frozen Bt40.9 million worth of assets of former Department of Special Investigation chief Tarit Pengdith on suspicion it had been accumulated unlawfully, the NACC announced Sunday.

NACC secretary-general Sansern Polchiak said the NACC suspected that Tarit was unusually rich so it froze his and his wife’s assets until the couple can explain how they had acquired the assets.
Tarit was ordered to defend the assets within 30 days, Sansern added.
