Yadana and Zawtika gas fields were shut down during April 10-27 for maintenance. During the period, gas supply of 980 million cubic feet per day from Yadana to Thailand was cut off, affecting the generating capacity of about 5,700 megawatts. Gas supply of 420 million cubic feet per day from Zawtika was also cut off, affecting the generating of about 3,300MW.
Egat Governor Soonchai Kumnoonsate thanked all parties for their cooperation in reducing electricity consumption during the period.
During the 18 days, 112 million litres of bunker oil were used for the power generating, about 32 million litres below expectation. Diesel consumption, at 13 million litres, was also 31 million litres below expectation.
