Ubon officials propose changes to draft charter

Eight assistant district chief officers in Ubon Ratchathani on Monday submitted a petition that some sections in the draft constitution be dropped.

The petition was presented to the provincial governor, to be forwarded to Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha and Thienchay Kiranandana, chairman of the National Reform Council.
Leading the group was Fakaew Lakkhet, the assistant district officer in Tan Sum district. Their target sections are Sections 86 (3), 284 (5) and 285.
They said the sections involving provincial administrative bodies may cause unfairness, corruption as well as poor check and balance.
