Economic policies don't need support of Article 44: Sommai

Finance Minister Sommai Phasee insisted that Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha does not need to exercise power under the Article 44 in enforcing economic policies.
He said he told the prime minister that economic policies demand good governance.
He said the only issue that the article could help will concern the government lottery pricing.
The Finance Ministry's main tasks involve the restructuring of the tax system, to boost tax income from 17 per cent of gross domestic product to 20 per cent; as well as the land and building tax.
