No Cabinet reshuffle for Somkid: PM

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha denied news reports that the Cabinet would be soon reshuffled and former deputy prime minister Somkid Jatusripitak would be invited in.

"What's the fuss about this? What will happen if he is in or out? Answer these questions and I will then make a decision whether to invite him in. I assure you that I have never thought about this," he blurted out.
Prayut was just returned from his trip to Singapore. Somkid is now advising the prime minister on economic affairs.
He expressed annoyance against reports that the junta would invite Somkid and Bank of Thailand governor Prasarn Trairatvorakul to join the Cabinet. He said reporters should not assign jobs to anybody.
"Why this matter is repetitively written about? They want me to suffer a stroke and die? Just tell me if you don't want me to stay. You'd better ask around what others say, like what businessmen talked about my trip to Singapore. Don't ask me if you don't believe me. What I said was interpreted as my attempt to stay on in power. Why doubt? Why don't you think that I want to stay on because I want to do good deeds? Staying on requires power?"
