Dr Wongwat Liewlak, director of the Communicable Disease Control Division in the BMA Department of Health, said yesterday the disease’s prevalence was at 29.30 cases per 100,000 population, as of June 30, and no death was reported. Small children were most at risk with 82 per cent of patients aged under 4.
The Public Health Ministry reported that from January 1 until July 20, Thailand had seen a 19,471 HFMD cases with one death. The top five provinces were Nan, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Ubon Ratchathani and Mae Hong Son.
