The suit was filed today by lawyer Tommy Thomas on behalf of Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar, Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, Datuk Saifuddin Nasution and Batu MP Tian Chua, at the Jalan Duta, High Court.
"We want to highlight that under Section 19 of the Election Offences Act 1954, the election expenditure has been limited to 200,000-100,000 ringgit for all candidates in the state and federal constituency.
"We believe that the 2.6-billion ringgit had exceeded 26 times more than the amount set by the country's law," said Nurul Izzah, who is PKR vice-president, at a press conference at the party headquarters.
Last month, the International business daily published an article quoting unnamed "investigators", that a total of 2.6 billion ringgit flowed into the Prime Minister's personal account.
