Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has instructed the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department to prepare assistance for residents in 21 northern and northeastern provinces where heavy rains and landslides were expected between today and Septem
The provinces included Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Nakhon Phanom, Loei and Udon Thani.
Government Spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd said yesterday Prayut had emphasised that those in disaster-prone areas must be warned in advance and strictly follow government instructions so as to reduce risk of losses. The Department’s offices in the 21 provinces were to proceed with flood-prevention measures, he said.
