Seven killed in pickup-lorry head-on crash in Roi Et

Five men and two women were killed when their pick-up truck lost control and ran against the traffic, crashing into an incoming lorry in Roi Et Monday morning, police said.
Police said the accident happened at 6:30 am on the Roi Et-Surin Road in Suwannaphumi district.
The accident happened on a bridge over the Nam Siew Canal. The two vehicles completely blocked the traffic on the bridge.
Rescuers have to use iron cutter to remove five bodies from inside the pickup. Two other bodies were hurled out of the pickup by the impact.
The lorry truck driver, Narongdet Deesud, 25, told police that he was driving his truck t deliver ground rocks from Surin to Roi Et when the accident happened.
He said that when his vehicle was on the bridge, the pickup truck lost control and entered his lane, leading to the head-on crash.
