TK Park launches free online library
Thailand Knowledge Park (TK Park) has launched the "TK Public Online Library" - first of its kind in Thailand - which provides online access to ebooks, audio books, newspapers and magazines.
Sirikon Maneerin, TK Park president, said it took three years to complete the project and that the library was now ready for the public.
Apart from Thai content, the library also offers material in the English language thanks to a partnership with Overdrive. The library contains some 1,700 books in English.
Members of the public can apply for free membership via www.tkpark.or.th or download the application, which is available in both iOS and Android format.
Araya Ma-in, acting director general of TK Park, said they will work with other libraries to promote this online version, because it was a good solution for Thailand.
“We expect to see at least 40,000 users in the first year,” he said.
