Police are carefully looking into the killing of night-entertainment tycoon Somyot Suthangkool, as emerging evidence suggests that the mastermind might be part of an influential network.

The suspected gunman has told police that a drug suspect had taken out a contract on Somyot because he failed to quash a lawsuit despite being paid millions of baht.
The gunman had been procured by former prison guard Chom Chainarong, who re-enacted his crime yesterday under the supervision of deputy national police chief Pol Lt-General Ruangsak Jaritake.
Ruangsak has instructed police to ensure the safety of all suspects in custody. “They are key to efforts to bring down all culprits,” he said.
