Final call for first-car buyers

A number of 111,465 individuals seeking tax rebates under the first-car buyer scheme must take delivery of their vehicles by the end of this month, or lose the tax benefit.
The Cabinet today set the deadline for the scheme.
Under the scheme, the subjected vehicles must be delivered during September 2011 and December 2012. In July 2012, the Yingluck government extended the document submission period for some applicants, without giving the exact deadline. The scheme is thus not yet concluded.
A total of 1,259,113 individuals have filed applications to join the scheme, seeking combined tax rebates worth Bt92.8 billion. As of August 31, 1,101,751 individuals have received tax rebates worth Bt81.19 billion.
