Thailand to intensify campaign for UNSC non-permanent member

Thailand would intensify its campaign for non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) when Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and his foreign minister Don Pramudwinai were in New York next week for the UN meeting.

The premier and foreign minister will take all opportunity to campaign for the position when they were at the UN, said Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Sek Wannamethee.
The UN General Assembly is a good opportunity to boost the campaign as leaders from 193 UN members will present in occasion of 70th anniversary of the UN and 2015 Sustainable Development Summit, he said.
