Hassavut rebuffs his dismissal but won't appeal
Supreme Administrative Court president Hassavut Vititviriyakul has rejected a resolution by the court's judicial commission to remove him from duty.
But he added that he would not appeal against the order because he “no longer has trust in the organisation”.
With teary eyes, Hassavut Friday addressed a press conference at Government Complex on Chaengwathana Road.
On Wednesday, the court’s judicial commission, by a majority vote, dismissed Hassavut for committing malfeasance by seeking the promotion of a police officer.
The commission said it found sufficient proof that Hassavut had abetted Derekrid Janekrongtham, secretarygeneral of the Office of the Administrative Courts, to write two informal letters to the national police chief and one of his deputies in 2013 and 2014 seeking the promotion.
