Songkhla vendors prepared for Je Festival

Meat vendors in Songkhla have cut their orders for all types of meat and eggs in preparation for the annual vegetarian festival which will fall next week.
Supha Maneephong, who sells fresh chicken at a market in the southern province, said that supplies during the Je Festival would be cut by 30 per cent, from 100 chicken a day.
She admitted that her income during the week-long period would fall.
The festival will be celebrated nationwide during October 13-21.
In Phuket, the most popular spot for festival goers, shrine cleaning took place today along with the decoration of all roads with yellow flags and red lanterns.
