Thai PBS director sacked

The board of governors of Thai PBS Friday sacked the director of the public TV station and three deputies.

The board announced that it decided to terminate the employment contract of Thai PBS director Somchai Suwanban without compensation because he allegedly ignored the recommendations of the board to improve the station and change its strategies to be more competitive.
Somchai was also found by the board to have breached the employment contract by approving four projects with value worth over Bt50 million each without receiving approval from the board first.
The termination of the contract prompted three deputies – Mongkol Lilatham, Supoj Jingjit, and Wanchai Tantiwitthayaphan – to be sacked along with him.
