Minister offers condolences to kin of Chinese woman who died in zip-line accident

Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul offered condolences yesterday to family and friends of a Chinese tourist who died on Monday while using an adventure-theme zip-line service in Chiang Mai's Mae Rim district. Police are still investigatin

The zip-line centre has been closed for three days and the owner asked to take responsibility for the woman’s death. Kobkarn said the ministry would soon launch safety measures for such activities, but she believed the incident wouldn’t affect the country’s tourism.
On Monday, the female tourist crashed into another rider in front of her on the zip-line – who was slightly injured. Staff rushed the Chinese woman to Nakhonping Hospital in Muang district, where she was pronounced dead. Doctors found she had died from a broken neck.
