Huge turnout for registrations in Bangkok

Registrations for the cycling event "Bike for Dad" opened for its first day today, with a large turnout in each of Bangkok's 50 districts.

Pirapong Saichuea, Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), visited the Dusit District Office, where people were registering for the campaign.
The cycling activity will be held on December 11 to celebrate His Majesty the King's 88th birthday anniversary on December 5.
The website, www.bikefordad2015.com, was open for registration at 9am and will accept applications until November 10.
The capital's 50 district offices are open for registration from at 8am to 4pm on weekdays and 9am until noon on weekends.
Those registering at the district office must bring their Thai national ID card. Foreigners can present their passport and migrant workers their temporary yellow card ID. Bangkok has allotted 100,000 spots for the cycling activity.
Pirapong said that people had been lining up at their respective district offices since before 6:00am. Roughly 15 minutes after the website went online this morning, an estimated 12,000 people had registered.
As of the press time, more than 80,000 people have registered for the campaign in Bangkok.
