The Energy Policy Administrative Committee has agreed to keep the retail price of liquefied petroleum gas unchanged for this month, despite its rising costs, through using a subsidy from the state-managed Oil Fund.

In bid to help relieve the public’s cost of living, the committee chaired by Energy Minister General Anantaporn Kanjanarat yesterday approved to maintain the local LPG price at Bt22.29 per kilogram, even though the Saudi Armco Contact Price for the month, an international benchmark, has increased by US$49 per tonne from the previous month, to US$411. The ex-factory price of LPG, as determined by a pricing formula that averaged the costs of LPG procurements from domestic and international sources, have increased by Bt0.6957/Kg, to reach Bt15.8011.
