TrueVisions boss Sompan named CASBAA chairman
The Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA), the region’s largest non-profit media association serving the multi-channel audio-visual content industry, has announced the election of Sompan Charumilinda as its chairman.
Sompan is a pioneer in Thailand’s pay-TV industry, and is currently executive vice chairman at the TrueVisions Group, Thailand’s leading pay-TV operator. He has more than 20 years’ experience in guiding the industry through rapidly changing markets, regulatory regimes and technological developments.
For the past 10 years, he has served as a member of CASBAA’s board of directors, actively promoting other members’ interests in Thailand and across the region.
“It’s personally exciting for me to be elected chairman of the board at a time of immense technological change in our industry,” he said.
“CASBAA will continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of its members, and together with my fellow directors, I will strive to ensure the association maintains its relevance to our industry.”
CASBAA has 14 board members.
