The Legal Execution Department will next month launch an online channel so people in Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen and Songkhla provinces can join an auction in Bangkok of items seized as evidence.
Ruenvadee Suwanmongkol, director-general of the department, said yesterday the department had revised regulations so that people in the four provinces could submit quotes online in real time via provincial offices, without having to travel to Bangkok for the auction.
The system would be beta tested in Songkhla’s “Open House” event next month and expanded across the country next year.
The department might also develop a smartphone app for auctions, she added.
