Abac management row could be resolved on Thursday

BOTH sides of a long management conflict at Assumption University have reportedly accepted a proposed solution of having all university council members resign so the holder of the university’s licence, St Gabriel’s Foundation, can establish a new council.

Selfproclaimed acting rector Sudhiporn Patumtaewapibal said Monday he would accept in principle the idea and was ready to nominate council members to manage the institute – better known as Abac – and rule on who should be rector.
Werasak Anusontivong, an Abac council member who backs embattled rector Brother Bancha Saenghiran, said both parties would propose solutions at a meeting on Thursday at the foundation office, so he would see what the proposals are and if they were acceptable.
