Thai shares rise on BOJ move

The Thai stock market and other Asian bourses enjoyed an upward ride today, after the Bank of Japan's shock announcement that it would charge banks to hold their cash.

At 3.42pm, the Stock Exchange of Thailand stood at 1,297.38 points, a gain of 8.98 points or 0.70 per cent from yesterday's closing.
It remains to be seen if foreign investors will stop their sell on Thai shares. Up to January 28, net foreign sells on Thai shares amounted to Bt10.448 billion.
