Thai shares on upward trend

The Stock Exchange of Thailand Index closed higher at noon, riding on fresh capital inflows to emerging markets.

At noon, the index stood at 1,328.03 points, gaining 7.84 points.
Tisco Securities said in a research note that the next resistance line is 1,350 points. More investment is seen flowing to stock markets after oil prices edged up amid anticipation that the US Federal Reserve would maintain its rate at the upcoming meeting. Stock markets were also bouyed by expectation that the European Central Bank and Bank of Japan would further relax the monetary policies next month.
KT Zmico Securities is less optimistic. Given fragile recovery in the global economy, there is limited upside gain, it said. The house maintains the end-2016 SET Index target at 1,330 points.
