One pickup, carrying five men and one women, lost control on Mittraparb-Rattana Wapi-Pak Khad Road at Nong Pai village in Tambon Rattana Wapi, resulting in the road being blocked.
The other pickup, travelling in the opposite direction en route to deliver a load of mackerel, slammed into the first car at about 1.40am.
In the second vehicle were two men – the Thai driver and a Myanmar passenger.
There were no survivors in both vehicles.
Among the dead was a 22-year-old Lao woman.
Police said the five men in the first pickup were electricians from the same village who had just left a karaoke bar with the Lao woman.
The crash occurred about two kilometres from their village.
There were no lights along the road, which is being expanded.
