Puang Puangpila, 49, a food vendor, said she came to open her stall at 6.40 am and fond the car parked on the footpath of outbound Sukhumvit road with engine and front lights on.
She said the driver who looked like an Asian man in his 30s opened the car door on his side and was sleeping. Soon after she saw him sleeping, she then saw his car went smashing with the stairway of the train station.
Passers-by called up a rescue service to help get the man out of the car.
Rakom said only Kum Ki Lee was injured in the incident and causes of the accident are yet to be determined. He said the car had first class insurance that covers the damage to the car and the stairway of the train station.
