Oil tanker crashes in Cambodia, kills one
Phnom Penh - An oil tanker crashed into a jetty in Cambodia, killing one but avoiding a spill, government officials said.
The body of a port security guard was found early Thursday morning after the tanker broke free from a tugboat and destroyed the jetty in bad weather Wednesday in Sihanoukville, said Chuon Narin, chief of police of Preah Sihanouk province.
A Ministry of Energy spokesman said no spill of oil was detected.
Sihanoukville is home to Cambodia's only deep sea water port as well as its most popular beachfront, around 15 kilometres apart.
