HOLLYWOOD action star and director Steven Seagal yesterday visited Parliament and spoke to National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) members about his plan to produce two films in Thailand.

Seagal said he also planned to set up a film-production company in Thailand to demonstrate the country’s aesthetics to the world.
He said it had been delightful coming to Thailand regularly for 30 years.
The 64-year-old star said he adored His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, saying the King had continually devoted himself to the country.
During a tour of the meeting room at Parliament, Seagal saw a picture of the King and showed his respect, according to a report. Seagal, who mastered martial arts and whose outstanding fighting style separated him from other action stars, said Thailand was amazing with its culture and martial arts.
NRSA vice president Alongkorn Ponlaboot, who led the delegation that met Seagal, said foreign films shot in Thailand could promote the country’s image and boost its film industry, economy and tourism, which matched with the assembly’s national reform plan.
Alongkorn also stressed that Seagal’s films would promote Thai artistic culture and Muay Thai, adding that the actor had long respected Buddhism.
