Thailand’s exports in the first quarter swung to positive territory with a 0.9 per-cent expansion for a value of US$53.82 billion (Bt1.92 trillion), creating hope that the Kingdom’s shipments for the whole year could grow to 5 per cent as targeted.
In March, the Commerce Ministry said shipments rose 1.3 per cent to $19.12 billion.
Commerce Minister Suvit Maesincee said exports could achieve the 5-per-cent goal this year based on the firstquarter result.
