Asean+3 plans epidemiology human resource support

The Ministry of Public Health’s Department of Disease Control and public health officials and advocates from the Asia-Pacific region recently discussed strategic plans for epidemiology human resource development to boost capacity in tackling and preventin

Department chief Amnuay Gajeena said yesterday the workshop was held last week as a side event of the Asean+3 Field Epidemiology Training Network in Indonesia. 
The department agreed to support Asean+3 (China, Japan and South Korea) in developing the potential in field epidemiology, including increasing manpower (doctors, veterinarians, lab personnel and livestock development experts), formulating a national strategic plan for human resource development, as each country could achieve the target ratio of 1 per 200,000 people or per 400,000 farm animals.
