Heat stroke kills two in Yangon

YANGON - Heat stroke kills two persons in Yangon as high temperatures leave the young and elderly vulnerable, according to Yangon General Hospital.

Dr Aye Ko Ko, the medical superintendent of the city's main hospital, said that the hospital received eight patients and two died.
"The two patients who died suffered from other serious illnesses," he said.
Temperatures are particularly high in Bagan's Nyaung U, reaching 45 degrees Celcius last week. There were unconfirmed reports of deaths in Shwebo, Sagaing Region. One reportedly died while taking an afternoon nap while high temperatures worsened the poor health condition of the other.
