Teacher saves most girls with tied bed sheets

A girl, who survived the blaze at the Pitakiatwittaya School’s dormitory, recounted that the teacher who stayed with them saved many girls by tying bed sheets as a rope for them to climb down from the second floor.

Kwanjira Ananthaphet, 12, said the teacher realised that the girls could not escape via the first floor so she made a rope with bed sheets and oversaw the girls climbing down via a windor.
Kwanjira said she and 13 other girls escaped through a window of another room by using a nylon rope for girl-guide practicing.
