The much-publicised case against Jenpop Weeraporn reached court yesterday.
On March 13, Jenpop’s Mercedes slammed into the back of a car in Ayutthaya, killing the two students.
The charges against him include causing the death of others; reckless driving and causing property damage; speeding; and driving without regard for others.
The case received much public attention partly because video clips of the accident appeared on social media.
The case also came under spotlight after police initially failed to subject Jenpop to a sobriety test.
Following a public outcry, some police in charge of Jenpop’s case were slapped with transfer orders.
