Shippers council fears another year of shrinking exports

The Thai National Shippers Council fears that Thailand is at high risk of continuing the three-year streak in export contraction for another year because of many risk factors after exports kept falling in the first four months.

“If the global economy has not recovered and Thai exports still decline until June, the country’s exports for the whole year could see negative growth again,” Nopporn Thepsithar, chairman of the TNSC, said Tuesday.
