Chulalongkorn ranked in top 50 of best Asian universities

Chulalongkorn University has been ranked 45th in the list of 350 top universities in Asia, compiled by London-based education and career consultancy Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

In the QS University Rankings: Asia 2016 released Tuesday morning, Chulalongkorn got a score of 69.8 points.
The second Thai university on the list was Mahidol, which was ranked 61st with 62.5 points.
Thammasat University was placed in 101st place with 47.4 points while Chiang Mai University finished in 104th place with 47.0 points.
Kasetsart University was ranked 129th with 40.9 points while King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi was 161st with 35.0 points of score.
Khon Kaen University was ranked 165th with 34.8 points and the Prince of Songkla University came in 185th position on the list with 31.8 points.
The National University of Singapore topped the list with 100 points, followed by the University of Hong Kong with 98.5 points. Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) came third with 98.4 points.
The QS said the scores were based on nine indicators: academic reputation (30 per cent), employer reputation (20 per cent), faculty/student ratio (15 per cent), citations per paper (10 per cent) and papers per faculty (10 per cent), staff with a PhD (five per cent), proportion of international faculty (2.5 per cent) and proportion of international students (2.5 per cent), proportion of inbound exchange students (2.5 per cent) and proportion of outbound exchange students (2.5 per cent).
