The incident was cited and circulated in Thai social media circle resulting criticism as many claimed students could be harmed or pass out from heat and exhaustion.
School director Jinnapat Piboonwititthamrong said his deputy confirmed it was a July 7 science examination for 50 Mathayom 2 students. He explained that it stemmed from a large class size of students so when taking an exam about 30 could sit in the classroom and others had to sit elsewhere as to eliminate chances of them copying answers. He said he would on July 21 discuss a re-examination possibility with the teacher and the students because the previous test was taken in uncomfortable and distracting environment hence it could affect the students’ performances.
Jinnapat said the teacher in question told him that they initially tried to sit in a canteen but other group of highschoolers were taking test there so they moved to the footpath. When a deputy school director saw it and said it was inappropriate, the teacher moved them to a sidewalk near the canteen.
Jinnapat said he would inform all teachers in the school as some might not think through when giving instruction, resulting to such inappropriateness.
